Located within the boxed area of the National Stadium of Brasilia, Mane Garrincha, the Giraffas network headquarters spans 500m², offering a unique architectural blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. Designed by BLOCO Arquitetos and completed in 2022, the office space exemplifies innovative design solutions tailored to its unconventional setting.
Design Concept
The office layout was compartmentalized using metal dividers, each designed with a 110cm module. These dividers not only complement the curves of the original stadium structure but also adapt to the irregular walls of the space. Painted in the brand’s distinctive orange color, the metal parts of the dividers create a vibrant contrast against the transparent or translucent glass panels, offering varying degrees of privacy.
Maximizing Views
A key design principle was to maximize views of the football field from every possible vantage point. The layout includes an event area, meeting rooms, workstations, and a reception, all strategically positioned to offer unobstructed views of the stadium. By leaving the original stadium structure, electrical, and air conditioning installations exposed, the design pays homage to the venue’s architectural heritage while maintaining a sense of openness and connectivity.
Innovative Features
In addition to the metal dividers, the design incorporates tall cabinets that seamlessly blend metalwork and carpentry, adding both functionality and visual interest to the space. These cabinets serve as storage solutions while contributing to the overall aesthetic coherence of the office environment.
