The D11 Renovation project, a collaboration between Espacio Studio and SOG design, unfolds within the vibrant cityscape of Barcelona, Spain. This comprehensive renovation, completed in 2021, breathes new life into a duplex housed within a “finca regia,” blending traditional charm with modern functionality.

Nestled in the heart of the city, the duplex underwent a holistic transformation, encompassing a complete reorganization of the layout, structural refurbishments, facade enhancements, and landscaping. Design Vision

The clients’ vision was clear: to enjoy the comforts of a country house while residing in the bustling city center, with ample privacy and space for hosting guests. To fulfill these requirements, the design prioritized openness, connectivity with the outdoors, and multifunctional spaces that seamlessly blend interior and exterior living.

Spatial Organization

A key strategy involved converting the basement into an open-plan area, fostering a sense of communal living and allowing for fluid interaction between indoor and outdoor spaces.
